Description: Join the 1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Commemoration Initiative and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum for a special screening of On Healing Land, Birds Perch, a powerful new short documentary that explores the enduring aftershocks of the Vietnam War.

The film centers on the iconic Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph of South Vietnamese General Nguyễn Ngọc Loan shooting Việt Cộng Captain Nguyễn Văn Lém, taken just two days after the 1968 Tet Offensive.

Following the screening, 1975’s Linh-Phương Vũ will moderate a bilingual panel discussion on the trauma of war, featuring filmmaker Naja Pham Lockwood, faculty Vũ Diễm Hương, and community organizer Kevin Lam.

Local transportation available:

A free bus to and from the JFK Library will be available on a first come, first served basis for interested attendees.

The first departure will leave from in front of the Vietnamese American Community of MA Office at 1386 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02122 at approximately 1:00 PM.

Bus service continues approximately every 30 minutes until the final departure from the JFK Library at 5:00 PM.
